REDIVENT Respules contain Levosalbutamol (also known as levalbuterol), the active (R)-enantiomer of salbutamol. It is a highly selective short-acting beta-2 agonist (SABA). As a “rescue” bronchodilator, it is specifically designed to provide rapid relief from airway obstruction. Compared to standard salbutamol, levosalbutamol is often associated with a lower incidence of common side effects like tachycardia (fast heart rate) and tremors, making it a preferred choice for sensitive patients.

Dosage Information:

- Adults and Adolescents (12+ years): 1.25 mg (one 2.5 ml respule) administered via nebulization every 6 to 8 hours, or as needed for acute relief.
- Children (6–11 years): The 1.25 mg strength is typically reserved for more severe obstruction; standard pediatric doses often start lower (0.31 mg or 0.63 mg).
- Method: Twist off the tab and squeeze the entire contents into the nebulizer cup. Inhale the mist over 10–15 minutes.
